Clearly the star here is the colorful T-shirt. I love the colors and floral motifs. These colors just make me feel happy. For my figure, I need darts even on knits for garments to fit properly. I did sew them in using the method I wrote about previously but they get lost in the print which is nice.
The skirt was a quick and simple straight skirt. I designed it with a faced waist, invisible zipper and 2 front patch pockets. I always stabilize the zipper area prior to installing the zipper. Here I used strips of fusible tricot knit interfacing.
The inspiration for the pocket design came from an old pair of ready-to-wear pants:
Since I wanted to give the skirt a sporty feel, I used topstitching thread, faux flat fell seams and topstitched the hem:
This T-shirt and skirt are very comfortable and perfect for warm summer days.
Happy sewing!
You look terrific in those colours. I enjoy your posts!

DeleteIt looks great Tomasa! love all the details on your skirt!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kyle! I actually think it was good I didn't finish this for MPB day. Lynn had worn pieces where the colors were just about the same!
DeleteI like the entire ensemble on you!
ReplyDeleteThank you Vanessa!
DeleteBoth pieces are really beautiful! I really like the details on the skirt. Thank you for the clear photographs. You looked great in your leggings on MPB day.
ReplyDeleteThank you Anna! I need to make (when I have time - ha) more long tops that the leggings can go with.
DeleteWhat a lovely outfit and adorable colours. Looks great on you :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Dawn.
DeleteYou're very creative. Those are very interesting pockets.
ReplyDeleteI can't take the credit for those pockets since they are a knock-off from the ready-to-wear pants but thank you! I am happy with how they turned out.
